We were asked to audit and assess a software development organisation following acquisition.   In addition, we were invited to make recommendations for change in the organisational structure and its processes to improve the predictability and reliability of software development.
The acquiring company were exposed to a significant risk of losing the key developers of the undocumented core software product.  
We reverse-engineered the software to create full system documentation.  We built and managed a new team to whom knowledge of the system was transferred. 
The product went on being developed and maintained in the new facility.
Approximate effort: 32 days
